Breaking the Latina Glass Ceiling with Martha Aviles

The daughter of immigrants from Nicaragua, Martha’s Dad saw the value of her studying math and science and encouraged Martha to study both subjects – and as a result she went on to earn her MBA and jumped into the tech world.

Because of her Dad’s encouragement to know no boundaries, she now has 20+ years of B2B marketing experience in SaaS, semiconductor, networking, and network security at start-ups, private, and public companies. As a top executive, she has successfully led through 20+ mergers and acquisitions, including managing several integration and acquisition exits. Prior to joining her present position, Martha held senior leadership roles in marketing at RigUp (now Workrise) and Enverus - both companies have reached Unicorn status.

Martha's leadership style is characterized by a hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" approach, aimed at cultivating a culture of passionate employees who harness their growth mindset to achieve both personal and professional success. She thrives in environments where she can build and lead high-performing teams, partnering with cross-functional units to make a measurable impact on the business.

But Martha's story isn't just about business acumen. She's a passionate advocate for diversity, trust, and creating workplaces with a high degree of psychological safety. Her passion projects extend beyond the boardroom, where she speaks on podcasts and at events like SXSW, sharing insights on marketing, women in leadership, and her experiences as a first-generation American.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Martha enjoys the simple pleasures of life, whether it's tending to her garden, embarking on hiking adventures with her two adorable pups, or exploring new experiences in her local community. Her love for travel has taken her to 26 countries, with a goal to reach 40 before 40.
